Falcon operators attending the World Economic Forum this week have a dedicated Dassault team on site to support them. The company has positioned the team at the Zurich Airport for the duration of the event. The forum, held in Davos, Switzerland, brings together business, political, intellectual and other high-profile leaders to debate global issues.

As demand to surf the Internet in flight grows, Duncan Aviation continues to develop supplemental type certificates (STC) to do just that. The MRO’s latest STC is for the installation of Aircell’s cabin telecommunication router, which provides Wi-Fi access in the cabin for Gogo Biz in-flight Internet service. The new STCs apply to the Hawker 800XP/850XP/900XP and Falcon 2000/2000EX EASy.

In lieu of holiday cards and gifts to members, the Aeronautical Repair Station Association (ARSA) established a $500 aviation maintenance scholarship through the Northrop Rice Foundation (NRF). The award will go to a student attending an FAA-certified Part 147 aviation technician school. The winner will be selected by the NRF’s board of directors.

Management–Essential Tools for Your New Role” seminar independently for the first time in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on March 28 and 29. The program was presented by the company for many years through the Helicopter Association International. “We are planning to offer the seminar annually at different locations to make it more accessible,” Brandon Battles, Conklin & de Decker vice president, told AIN.

The FAA has proposed a $1,025,000 civil penalty against San Antonio Aerospace for allegedly violating the Department of Transportation’s workplace drug-and-alcohol testing program. The alleged violations occurred between March 24, 2007 and May 8, 2008. The company was renamed ST Aerospace San Antonio in November 2009 and is currently a subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Aerospace.
