The Malaysia Department of Civil Aviation has given repair station approval to the Bombardier Aircraft Service Center in Singapore. The facility is Bombardier’s tenth factory-owned service center and, with the Amsterdam, Netherlands facility, the second outside North America.

The Singapore facility, which entered service at the end of last year, will be inaugurated during the Singapore Airshow.

The FAA has awarded GE Aviation organization designation authorization (ODA), enabling the company to act on behalf of the FAA in managing certification projects and determining compliance in accordance with FAA procedures, guidelines and oversight.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has granted a CCAR 145 maintenance organization certificate to Flying Colours. The Peterborough, Ontario-based maintenance, completions and refurbishments provider claims the approval makes it the first Canadian MRO to receive complete airframe and specialized service approval under Chinese civil aviation regulations.

Ramco Systems, an enterprise software company focused on delivering enterprise resource planning, human capital management and aviation MRO software on cloud, tablets and smartphones, reports it is experiencing “good traction” in Europe.

Commenting on the company’s success in the region, CEO Virender Aggarwal said, “We have witnessed good traction for our cloud offerings in the European sub-continent with no license fee, maintenance cost or additional infrastructure to procure. The cloud model has seen a quick uptake from this segment, globally.”

ACI Jet Solutions has launched a new website designed to highlight the company’s capabilities and showcase its 34,000-sq-ft facility. It provides information on airframe, engine and APU, accessories, interiors and modifications, mobile service units, leather and refurbishment and parts department services. ACI Jet Solutions is an FAA Part 145 certified repair station located in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Swiss FBO and maintenance company Air Service Basel has gained approvals from the authorities in the Republic of Chad to complete maintenance on Chad-registered aircraft. Based at Basel-Mulhouse airport on the Swiss-French boarder, Air Service Basel operates an FBO at the airport and already has EASA, FAA and Bermuda BDCA maintenance approvals.

Spirit Aeronautics has added a hangar at its Port Columbus International Airport campus in Ohio. “The new hangar, located adjacent to our current facility, is approximately 8,000 sq ft and includes 7,800 sq ft of shop space and additional office space,” Tony Bailey, the company’s president, told AIN. “The addition of Hangar 3 gives our interior refurbishment and service shop the room needed to increase capacity and improve productivity.

Elliott Aviation has received FAA STC certification for the Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics MD302 standby attitude module as part of its Garmin G1000 avionics upgrade in King Airs. The MD302 provides attitude, altitude, airspeed and slip information to the pilot during normal operation or in the case of primary instrument failure, enhancing system reliability and reducing pilot workload. The compact, self-contained, solid-state instrument fits in less panel space than a standard set of two-inch mechanical attitude, altitude and airspeed indicators.

StandardAero Business Aviation has named Kevin Malutinok and Melissa Maddox, respectively, as the new vice presidents and general managers of the company’s Springfield, Ill. and Houston, Texas facilities. They will be responsible for the sales and operational performance of each of their businesses. Malutinok comes to StandardAero from Dassault Aircraft Services in Wilmington, Del., where he served as the site’s vice president and general manager.
