West Star Aviation has partnered with Tac Air to provide services on Spirit of St. Louis Airport (SUS). Tac Air will offer traditional FBO fare such as fuel and ramp service while West Star will offer FAR Part 145 maintenance.

Everett, Wash.-based AeroMech announced its new AMI Aviation Services has established FAA-certified repair stations on Orlando Sanford International Airport in Sanford, Fla., and on Gillespie Field in San Diego. Sanford is also an FAA-approved PMA facility. “AeroMech has been waiting for the right opportunity to integrate our engineering and FAA STC ODA certification services with fabrication and repair station capabilities.

CAE Flight Training (India) and InterGlobe Enterprises of India are forming a joint-venture training center to provide pilot and maintenance training in India. Located in the National Capital Region, Delhi, India, it is slated to begin operations by the end of next year. It is the fifth CAE facility in the country. CAE currently trains more than 1,500 crewmembers every year at its training center in Bengaluru.

ST Aerospace has become a TruEngine service provider and claims to be the first independent MRO shop to earn that distinction. It joins GE Aviation Services and Snecma, which have a 50-50 stake in CFM International. The TruEngine program, launched in 2008, was developed in response to a growing industry need to better understand the maintenance history of engines as they come up for resale.

Emirates Airline has announced it will open an engine overhaul shop slated to complement its test cell in Dubai. The $120 million facility will be located on approximately 22.3 acres of land. Emirates plans to break ground by next year’s first quarter, with the facility expected to begin service by the fourth quarter of 2014.
