Twin Commander Aircraft has begun planning for the 10th edition of its Twin Commander University owner/operator conference. The event will be held next year at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Fla., from April 28 to 30.

Hawker Beechcraft Services (HBS) has begun scheduling wide area augmentation system (Waas) upgrades on Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21-equipped King Air 200/300s. This installation follows the introduction of the King Air C90GTi upgrade announced last March. According to an HBS spokesman, the King Air 200/300 Waas upgrade offers operational flexibility and cost savings associated with direct and curved area navigation (Rnav) routes.
Bombardier Aerospace has earmarked $30 million to support its growing fleet of business and commercial aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region. According to James Hoblyn, president of customer services and specialized and amphibious aircraft, the investment is the first phase of an aggressive plan to build a comprehensive service and support network for the Asia-Pacific region.
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport-based Constant Aviation will be opening a new accessory facility from which it will offer composite repair services for on- and off-wing repairs. “We are in the final stages of opening a new 15,000-sq-ft facility that will house both our new composite shop and the expansion of our accessory business.
There are “tens of thousands of aging military aircraft” flying with the world’s air forces and many of those aircraft are more than 25 years old, according to Rob McDonald, ASIS marketing director. “Many of these fleets are set to be still flying in 20 years or more, with some aircraft, such as the USAF KC-135 tankers, topping 80 years old before the last aircraft is withdrawn from service,” he said.
