StandardAero has completed a license agreement with Rolls-Royce that designates the company’s Singapore facility an authorized maintenance repair and overhaul center (Amroc) for RR300 helicopter engines. The authorization follows an RR300 Amroc agreement signed in December with StandardAero’s facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Gulfstream Aerospace has expanded its worldwide service and support network by opening a parts and materials distribution center near Los Angeles. The 5,000-sq-ft facility at Van Nuys Airport primarily serves Gulfstream customers in the western U.S. and Canada, shortening delivery times and minimizing shipping costs.
The 123 Go program is AV8 MRO’s flat-rate plan that offers operators choices in pricing methods and turn times when having their Hawker landing gear repaired, overhauled or exchanged. Operators who choose to have their landing gear serviced at AV8 MRO can pick the service needed–repair, overhaul or exchange–and then select their preferred pricing method, including actual labor/material cost, time/material cost with “not to exceed amount” or a flat rate.
Ameco Beijing has obtained an AS/EN9100 certificate of registration issued by SAI Global validating that it operates a quality management system that complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008+AS9100C, EN9100:2009, in the scope of design and manufacturing of installation kits for aircraft modification and cabin parts. The AS/EN9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system suited for design, development and manufacturing in the aerospace industry.
PPG Industries has added a new packaging unit to its coatings plant and aerospace application support center in Gonfreville, France. PPG is now able to offer customers in Southern Europe the benefits of proprietary Semco ready-to-use, disposable cartridges for storing, mixing and applying multiple-component adhesives, sealants, epoxies, polysulfides, polyurethanes and other materials that require mixing.
Aero Dynamix has been granted an EASA NVG STC on a Bell 412EP. It is the first of two 412EPs Aero Dynamix will modify for Faroe Islands operator Atlantic Airways, which will use the modified aircraft for search-and-rescue missions. The NVG upgrades encompass internal NVIS avionics modifications, edge-lit panels, overlays and all other aircraft illuminated components. These upgrades are designed to balance cockpit illumination for both NVIS and daylight readability.
Columbus, Ohio-based Spirit Aeronautics announced Jody Jaraczewski has joined the company as the director of sales and marketing. Jaraczewski brings more than 14 years of sales experience and an understanding of how to drive revenue within sales while providing exceptional customer service, according to Spirit. In his new role, Jaraczewski will be responsible for creating and implementing sales strategies designed to help the company achieve its aviation service objectives worldwide.
Trine Aerospace & Defense announced that retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Lee Taylor has joined the company as COO. Taylor will assume responsibilities for operations at the company’s base at Colorado Springs Airport, where it offers engineering, manufacturing and modification on general aviation, commercial and special-mission aircraft, while also providing in avionics and installation repair. Taylor will report directly to Britt Ham, the company’s president and CEO.
The FAA has issued an NPRM to supersede airworthiness directive 2013-21-01, which currently applies to the Airbus Helicopters AS350B/BA/B1/B2/B3/C/D/D1 and AS355E/F/F1/F2/N/NP. The current AD requires certain inspections of each tail-rotor pitch horn assembly for a crack and, if there is a crack, replacing the pitch horn with an airworthy pitch horn before further flight. It also requires a one-time visual inspection for pitch horns above certain hours time-in-service (TIS).
The FAA is adopting an airworthiness directive for all Rolls-Royce Deutschland BR700-725A1-12 turbofans. The AD requires removal of affected fuel metering units on the BR700-725A1-12. This AD was prompted by reports of wear on the receptors of the double-ended unions in the FMU housing on BR700-725A1-12s causing fuel leakage. The AD is intended to prevent failure of the FMU, which could lead to damage in one or more engines and damage to the airplane. The AD becomes effective July 17.
