ExecuJet Aviation is stepping up the expansion of its business aviation support business in the Asia Pacific region with new maintenance and handling facilities in Malaysia and Australia. At Kuala Lumpur’s Subang Airport, where ExecuJet already operates an FBO through a joint venture with Hawker Pacific, the company is preparing to establish a maintenance operation but has yet to confirm details of which business aircraft this will support.

Acting FAA administrator Lynne Osmus has appointed new personnel following last year’s departure of associate administrator for aviation safety Nicolas Sabatini and director of Flight Standards Service James Ballough. Osmus appointed Peggy Gilligan the new associate administrator for aviation safety and moved John Allen from deputy director to director of Flight Standards Service.

Interjet Group, based at Lanseria International Airport in South Africa, has been purchased by Paul Ludick and TEIM Ventures. The group’s businesses include Interjet Avionics, Ameta Training Academy and Interjet Maintenance, which specializes in Embraer EMB-120s, King Airs, Hawkers, Learjets, Citations and Gulfstreams.

Dassault Falcon has launched its new “E-forum” series of Internet-based communication seminars. The first of the hour-long sessions attracted 32 Falcon 7X users from the U.S., UK, France, Mexico, Brazil and Switzerland in an online interchange of maintenance information and best operating practices.

After trying to cut costs by reducing wages and work hours, Duncan Aviation has “had to implement a reduction in its nationwide work force.” It is the first such action in Duncan’s 53-year history, the company explained in a statement. The layoffs affect 304 positions, including 170 at Duncan’s Lincoln, Neb. headquarters; 122 in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, Mich.; and 12 at satellite avionics and engine facilities in the U.S.
