According to the company, operational testing and laboratory analysis substantiated the product’s inherent UV protection qualities, high rain-erosion rating, increased fuel efficiency and a reduction in related maintenance overhead.

Bombardier Aerospace has opened a regional support office (RSO) in Toluca, Mexico. The office will anchor regional support capabilities for Bombardier business aircraft customers throughout Mexico and surrounding areas.
The office is located alongside Bombardier’s new business aircraft sales team within the Assertec FBO on Toluca Airport. The office will be home to three field service representatives, one sales director, one RSO administrative assistant and one RSO manager.
Duncan Aviation has assembled a team of interior service specialists able to provide scheduled, unscheduled and road trip interior service to customers requiring aircraft interior work away from a major Duncan Aviation facility.
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote aviation careers, AAR Aircraft Services most recently hosted a career day tour and job skills workshop for 40 sophomores and juniors from Miami Central High School.
Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services North America (HS-NA) has signed a five-year exclusive MRO support contract with air-tour operator Sunshine Helicopters of Kahulu, Maui. The agreement will cover Sunshine Helicopters’ Arriel 1 and Arriel 2 engines, and Airbus AS350, AS355 and EC130 dynamic components.
“This support agreement solidifies Vector’s commitment to Sunshine to provide MRO support for its fleet of Airbus Helicopters tour aircraft,” said Eric Hicks, regional sales director at HS-NA.
Barfield recently expanded its repair capabilities to include ground support test equipment (GSTE). According to the company, the extension will be dedicated to its TT1000A and TT1200 turbine temperature test set before being expanded to other test equipment by year-end. “Barfield’s goal of providing more and more dedicated and local services to its customers…will strengthen our leadership role in the GSTE market,” said CEO Frederic Denise. The company’s 22,000-sq-ft Phoenix facility has specialized in component repair since it opened in 2000.
West Star Aviation has appointed Joan Pompa as interior/paint project manager at its East Alton, Ill. location. Pompa joined West Star last year as interior/paint sales manager at its Grand Junction, Colo. facility. In addition to her experience at West Star, Pompa has 13 years of sales experience in interior, paint and refurbishment projects. In her new role she will work directly with the sales team and manage the overall project from pre-arrival planning and material selection to post-departure follow-up.
Darren Fronk has joined Constant Aviation as operational manager at its Cleveland facility. Fronk, most recently regional sales manager for Stevens Aviation, has 20 years of aviation experience. He is a licensed A&P mechanic with experience as a maintenance duty manager, lead technician, warranty analyst and maintenance controller. The MRO recently added a 20,000-sq-ft hangar dedicated to small and midsize aircraft.
Santa Rosa, Calif.-based KaiserAir announced Rick Brainard has joined the organization as director of maintenance marketing and business development. Brainard’s recent experience includes aviation consulting with Aerick Global, roles in business development, v-p sales and general manager with West Star Aviation, various roles with McKinney Aerospace, and sales leadership roles with GE Aircraft Engines, AlliedSignal and BFGoodrich.
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bombardier Challenger 300s. The AD was prompted by multiple reports of erratic electrical status indications on the pushbutton annunciators and the engine indication and crew alerting system (EICAS). Some of those reported incidents involved a momentary loss of electrical power and loss of flight displays.
