The FAA is superseding an existing airworthiness directive (AD) for the Eclipse EA-500 with Pratt & Whitney Canada PW610F-A engines. The existing AD requires operators to limit their maximum operating altitude to 37,000 feet. The new AD would restrict maximum operating altitude to 30,000 feet.

In the continuing saga of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association (ARSA) versus the FAA’s drug testing policy, the FAA employed an unanticipated evasive maneuver.
Electronic manual eMan, a browser-based interface that allows users to access only the current version of any hosted content, is ideal for maintenance and flight ops, Vince Doherty, v-p of AviIT, told AIN. Doherty said all content is completely version controlled so users can’t inadvertently access an out-of-date document. “The controls over the system improve safety and compliance,” he said.
Responding to demand from the aeromedical industry, Jet Support Services (JSSI) is adding Eurocopter EC135/145 services to its lineup. “We did a market-share analysis last June and found a total of 633 Eurocopter EC135s and 377 EC145s in service worldwide,” Kandi Spangler, JSSI v-p of marketing, told AIN.
CRS Jet Spares will be establishing a footprint in Asia over the coming year. “We have been involved in providing our services to the Asia region for a long time and now believe the timing is right to establish a footprint in the region,” said Armando Leighton, Jr, CRS Jet Spares founder and CEO. According to Leighton, the plan will be developed over the next 12 months and implemented in phases.
