BizJet International, Lufthansa Technik’s U.S. subsidiary, has opened a dedicated maintenance and refurbishment hangar in Tulsa, Okla., large enough for a BBJ 737-800. Brian Barber, v-p of completions, said, “Building up capacities to service VIP and special-mission aircraft, especially for U.S. customers, is crucial for the market demand. With the opening of a new hangar we are able to serve our customers with faster turn times, while retaining the Lufthansa Technik world-class quality.”

Honeywell Aerospace has teamed with Deer Jet, the largest business aviation operator in Asia-Pacific, to offer in-country access, at an unspecified location, to maintenance service for Honeywell auxiliary power units. The partnership marks the first line maintenance service center in mainland China for Honeywell since the company entered the business and general aviation market in the country.
A new accessory shop is planned for West Star Aviation’s East Alton, Ill. (ALN) location. It is set to open in the fourth quarter. Once operational, the new shop will focus on providing extensive services for aircraft wheels and add battery capabilities before year-end. ALN plans to expand its offerings to include brake services.

Jet Aviation St. Louis has replaced a Rockwell Collins cabin electronics system (CES) with its Venue system in a Global XRS. The Rockwell Collins Venue is a high-definition cabin management system that upgrades and replaces the CES with the features and functionality of the most advanced home entertainment systems and executive suites. Blake Hogge, Jet Aviation St. Louis senior manager for avionics sales, said the facility is performing the same replacement in a Challenger 605 and another Global.
Vector Aerospace Engine Services-Atlantic (ES-A) has renewed its network services agreement with Turboprop East, based in North Adams, Mass. Turboprop East is an independent King Air, Avanti and Citation maintenance facility. ES-A will provide engine repair and overhaul support for the P&WC PT6A and JT15D from its distributor and designated overhaul facility in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Contractual support includes engine repair, hot-section inspections, testing, modifications, overhaul services and parts distribution on the PT6A and JT15D.
Flightdocs has released the first module of its new Flightdocs Enterprise suite of aviation data-management solutions. This new tool allows web and mobile-based users to track inventory, requests for repairs and parts requisition, purchase orders and shipping information. It gives customers a complete view of the purchasing and parts management process, allowing for real-time updates and access to orders, component data, documentation and status.
Aviall has entered into a distribution agreement with AeroControlex to market and distribute the latter’s pump products. The agreement includes exclusive rights worldwide, with the exception of China, where Aviall will operate non-exclusively. AeroControlex designs and produces fuel, hydraulic and lubrication pumps, mechanical controls and gearbox actuators.
Constant Aviation has promoted Mark Crotty to general manager at its Las Vegas location. Crotty joined the organization in 2010 as the service manager at the Cleveland facility and became director of operations in 2012. “Mark understands the importance of customer service and attention to detail. He was a key contributor to the advancement of the Cleveland location, and I am excited to have him overseeing our Las Vegas location,” said Kevin Dillon, vice president for operations.
