Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has terminated discussions with BBA Aviation about combining unspecified parts of its business. DAE, a Dubai-based MRO, aircraft completions and aircraft leasing company, entered into the discussion with British aircraft services firm BBA late last month to explore merging some of their assets. Reuters reported the talks centered upon an estimated $4.2 billion deal focusing on DAE’s StandardAero. StandardAero did not respond to requests for further comment.

Desert Jet Maintenance has earned FAA Part 145 approval as a Cessna Citation certified repair station. Based at Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal, Calif., Desert Jet Maintenance offers airframe and engine repair, modifications, inspections and maintenance for all 500- and 600-series Citations. It also provides pre-buy inspections and maintenance management services.
Dynamic Precision Group has signed an agreement to acquire eight aerospace component fabrication and machining facilities located at three sites in the U.S., Canada and the UK. The Stuart, Fla.-based company is an independent manufacturer of complex components, specializing in the hot section of turbine engines used in commercial and military aircraft and in industrial applications. All three facilities design, manufacture and integrate components and systems for aircraft engines and airframes from Unison Engine Components, a subsidiary of GE Aviation.
Tempus Jets of Newport News, Va., is relocating its FAA Part 145 repair station and interior completions businesses from Richmond, Va., to Brunswick Executive Airport (BXM) in Maine. Initially, the company has leased 34,532 sq ft of space in a 166,355-sq-ft hangar at BXM, a former Naval Air Station.
Skandia is completing its repertoire of flammability tests with the addition of heat-release and smoke-density equipment for heat, smoke and toxicity testing capabilities.
“Adding these new tests is the direct response to requests by our global customers,” said Jarod Triplett, v-p of the Davis Junction, Ill. company. “This now makes Skandia one of the few single-source testing facilities that can offer the full complement of services.” The services offered include tests required for any commercial or regional aircraft certified to carry 20 or more passengers.
Beechcraft and its aftermarket service and support organization, Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support, appointed Air Service Basel in Switzerland as an authorized service center for the company’s King Air series. The designation allows the facility to provide King Air line and base maintenance. The company, which began operations in 1967, is an FBO, as well as an EASA- and FAA-approved maintenance organization and repair station at Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse in Switzerland.
Baker Aviation, an aircraft maintenance, management and charter company in north Texas, recently received an upgraded tarmac taxiway to accommodate larger business jets as part of an Addison Airport renewal plan funded by the Texas Department of Transportation. Baker Aviation Maintenance received its FAA repair station certification last year. The company provides airframe maintenance for Hawkers, King Airs, Beechjets, Citations, Learjets, Falcons, Challengers and Gulfstreams.
AAR has entered into an agreement with Liebherr-Aerospace to provide landing-gear maintenance, repair and overhaul for the Embraer E170/175/190/195 series. The agreement with Liebherr-Aerospace, which developed and integrated the landing gear installed on the E-Jet E1 series, allows AAR to acquire and maintain updated technical documentation on the aircraft. With that access and the ability to purchase related spare parts for the E-Jet E1 series, AAR’s landing gear facility in Miami will be able to service those aircraft.
Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services was re-certified as a Sikorsky authorized S-76 and S-61 overhaul and repair center and as a Sikorsky authorized customer support center for the S-76. Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services will continue to provide Sikorsky operators with scheduled maintenance for the S-76 and repair, major overhaul and testing of certain S-76 and S-61 components.
RBR Maintenance has hired Chris Lesniak as manager of outside parts sales. Lesniak has more than 30 years of experience, including director of sales and marketing, account manager and parts manager for Arnoni Aviation and Avant Aerospace.
