Pratt & Whitney Canada and the Brazilian maintenance and engineering division of TAP Portugal announced an agreement to provide "comprehensive engine overhaul services for the PT6A and PW100 turboprop engine operators in Latin America." Engine services will be provided by TAP at its Porto Alegre facility, which offers the region's only engine test cells.

Viking Air of Victoria, British Columbia, will use the Avtrak GlobalNet platform to support its factory maintenance tracking program–Viking MX. According to Rob Mauracher, v-p of business development and MRO general manager for Viking, the Viking MX system will allow operators to plan, track and schedule maintenance activities, maintain regulatory compliance and work closely with the OEM in monitoring overall aircraft systems reliability.
Executive Flight Services, a subsidiary of Kansas City, Mo.-based Executive AirShare, has established a maintenance base at Midwest National Air Center (GPH), formerly known as Clay County Regional Airport, in Kearney, Mo. Keith Plumb, president and COO, said the move was designed to take advantage of low fuel prices and operating costs in the area.
Constant Aviation, a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility headquartered at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, is offering a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the Aircell high-speed Internet with Wi-Fi system for the Gulfstream IV. "The addition of Wi-Fi to corporate aircraft has been on the rise as an increasing number of passengers want access to the Internet and e-mail in flight," said company president Stephen Maiden.
The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) has received five AKV cycle counter systems for its Bell UH-1 fire-fighting and utility helicopters from Dart Helicopter Services. Dart handles worldwide distribution for AKV.
