NetJets Europe is targeting fast-expanding Russian businesses for its fractional-ownership program. It has dropped the ferry charges that have previously been applied for flights out of Moscow and St. Petersburg to allow Russian clients the same terms and conditions as provided to program members in western Europe.

The fifth aircraft in Bombardier Aerospace’s Challenger 300 certification program joined the flight-test fleet on March 8 when it flew for the first time. Aircraft S/N 20-005 is being used for function and reliability testing of the twinjet’s corporate interior, including all cabin systems, water and waste management, lighting, environmental controls, passenger electronics and entertainment systems and ergonomics.

Executive charter and corporate aircraft operators have complained that they have been unable to get slots at London Northolt Airport since NetJets started using the facility as a forward operating base in December.

Further evidence that Scottsdale Airport (SDL), 14 miles southeast of Phoenix Sky Harbor International, is an increasingly active business aviation center in Arizona and the southwest surfaced March 4 when the field’s fifth and newest FBO, Scottsdale AirCenter, hosted a display of nearly 30 business and GA aircraft.

Despite the worldwide economic slump and the threat of war in Iraq, the fourth annual Aircraft Interiors Expo 2003 opened its doors at Germany’s Hamburg Messe conference center in late February, and organizers and exhibitors alike appeared pleasantly surprised at the industry response to this largest expo to date.
