Pentastar Aviation has signed a five-year ground handling contract with Daimler- Chrysler Aviation for its Airbus A319 shuttle. Located at Oakland County International Airport (PTK), Pentastar Aviation will provide maintenance, fueling, passenger processing, cleaning, security, catering to DaimlerChrysler Aviation’s Airbus A319 shuttle, the Transatlantic Star. The aircraft can accommodate up to 48 passengers in executive seats.

Jet Aviation Singapore, the only Gulfstream authorized service center and warranty repair station in Asia, recently completed the replacement of both left and right wing attachment (clothes-pin) fittings on a Gulfstream IV. This was the largest structural repair job the facility ever performed.
Flightcraft, based at Portland, Ore. International Airport, has become Hartzell Propeller’s newest recommended repair facility. Hartzell has more than two dozen repair facilities around the world. To qualify, a company must complete a periodic audit process to ensure the quality systems and capabilities needed to properly service Hartzell products. In addition, Hartzell has an ongoing requirement to participate in factory training.
The second annual Super Bowl party and golf tournament held at Houston-based Wing Aviation raised more than $13,000 for the Wing Aviation/PAMA Scholarship Fund. The annual program is dedicated to helping fund one year’s tuition for a student attending Westwood College of Aviation Technology. More than 200 attended the party and 100 golfers participated in the golf tournament.
The FAA has certified Cutter Aviation’s Phoenix facility to perform full-service maintenance on the Hawker 800XP, 800 and 700. Cutter has long been a Beechcraft maintenance provider, with emphasis on the King Air line. Cutter is also an authorized service center for Pratt & Whitney Canada, Williams International and Cessna models 500 through 560XL. Cutter has operations at major airports in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
AvQuotes.com, an online aviation maintenance and refurbishment quote system, has added Aircraft Composite to its list of service providers. The Dallas company specializes in new and refurbished interiors, including projects such as conference tables, credenzas, bulkheads and galleys. The company will now be able to respond to interior quote requests posted on AvQuotes.com.
The FAA has authorized Tulsa, Okla.-based BizJet International to become a Rolls-Royce overhaul facility for the Tay 611-8. The MRO is now a Rolls-Royce authorized overhaul facility for both Spey 511-8 and Tay 611-8 engines with inspection, repair, midlife, overhaul, testing and calibration capability.
Conklin & de Decker has released the latest version of its maintenance management software. Like other versions of the software, MxManager Version 7.0 does maintenance tracking, inventory, work orders and management reporting, but the company touts the new edition’s suitability for international organizations.
Avcon Industries has a source of financing available for its reduced vertical separation minimums (RVSM) solution for the Learjet 20 series as well as for other Avcon modifications. It is provided by Commercial Capital Co. for 24-, 36-, 48-, or 60-month terms. More than 80 airplanes have been upgraded using the Avcon STC RVSM Group Solution. Orders for upgrading another 40 airplanes are booked or pending.
AirLog Imaging is offering a Version II of its LBCD (Logbooks on CD). LBCD software Version I included search and view-only capabilities; Version II is a complete aircraft document scanning and indexing software program. The program has a password-protected maintenance data tab that activates the scanning and indexing capabilities.
