A general aviation working group met with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials early last month to begin discussing procedures and processes that would reduce the current level of redundancy in security vetting and badging.

Avinode and CharterX are joining forces to form what will be the executive charter market’s largest online portal. Avinode is buying out the CharterX shares for an undisclosed sum. The deal should be closed by early this month, at which point the two companies’ technical teams will start integrating the rival systems.
Transport Canada plans to take back the business aviation operating certification and oversight functions it had transferred to the Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA) in 2005. The change, which John Baird, Canada’s Minister of Transport, announced on March 16, is expected to take effect on April 1 next year.
