Cessna Citation 650, Atlantic City, N.J., Oct. 27, 2007–Citation N697MC came in “low and slow” on approach to Atlantic City International Airport and landed hard, substantially damaging the jet. The captain told the copilot to increase power, but the copilot “seemed confused” about different airspeed readings on the right- and left-side panel displays.

Hawker Beechcraft King Air 200, Salmon, Idaho, Dec. 10, 2007–Trying to return for a landing immediately after taking off from Lemhi County Airport in a snowstorm “of varying intensity,” the King Air crashed into a hangar. The commercial pilot and a passenger were killed and the airplane, owned and operated by QB Corp., was destroyed.

Hawker Beechcraft King Air 200, Salmon, Idaho, Dec. 10, 2007–Trying to return for a landing immediately after taking off from Lemhi County Airport in a snowstorm “of varying intensity,” the King Air crashed into a hangar. The commercial pilot and a passenger were killed and the airplane, owned and operated by QB Corp., was destroyed.

Cessna 208 Caravan, Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 5, 2007–The night cargo flight crashed on takeoff from Rickenbacker International Airport, one mile from the airport, killing the commercial pilot and passenger and destroying the Caravan. The airplane was de-iced before departure. Radar tracking showed that it climbed to about 1,100 feet msl and made a left turn with a groundspeed of about 109 knots before descending.

Eurocopter BK 117C1, Whittier, Alaska, Dec. 3, 2007–The commercial pilot, paramedic and patient are missing after the crash of the EMS helicopter into the ocean three miles from Whittier. The body of the flight nurse was found. The helicopter, which has not been located, was operated by Evergreen Alaska Helicopters, under contract to Lifeguard. Weather was IMC and the pilot was giving position reports every 10 minutes.
