• The House of Representatives of the 110th Congress adjourned in mid-December. However, to keep President Bush from making recess appointments, the Senate conducted “pro forma” sessions that lasted only minutes. By the time Congress adjourned, there had been 2,531 bills introduced in the Senate and 4,930 in the House. According to the Library of Congress, the 110th Congress passed 155 bills.

SkyTheater’s new high-definition audiovisual and surround-sound system has passed DO-160 testing, and the first installation will be in service on a business jet by the second quarter. Previous versions of the system are already flying aboard a variety of Boeings and Gulfstreams. The Hollywood, Fla.-based company has 12 orders for the new package scheduled through 2011.

The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar as an airliner has already flown into the sunset, but it is finding new life in an executive role. According to King Aerospace director of corporate aircraft services Don Salisbury, the company delivered an executive L-1011 bizliner major refurbishment on January 11, on schedule and just eight months after the widebody trijet rolled into the Ardmore, Okla. facilities.
