The Million Air FBO at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, N.Y., is now
an Avfuel dealer. The facility opened in October, taking over the FBO and fueling facilities from Oneida County, which used to provide services at the airport. Million Air Rome plans to renovate its facilities this year, including a new corporate hangar to be finished in June and a new FBO terminal set to open in the fourth quarter.

Rectrix Aerodrome Centers has opened a second FBO, at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in Florida, which joins the company’s first FBO in Hyannis, Mass. Rectrix Sarasota is housed in a 15,000-sq-ft three-story glass tower next to 150,000 sq ft of hangar space and 15 acres of concrete ramps.

Avfuel dealer Davis Flight Support has remodeled its Yolo County, Calif. FBO with multiple snooze rooms, showers and Jaguar and Range Rover crew cars. Davis Flight offers a 20,000-sq-ft hangar and 9,000-sq-ft FBO terminal with WSI weather in the flight planning room, HD televisions, wireless Internet and a luxurious pilot lounge.

Seven former Million Air FBOs have joined in a marketing partnership with Odyssey Aviation Bahamas to form a new Odyssey Aviation FBO network. The seven new Odyssey FBOs are located at New Orleans (Lakefront Airport); Asheville, N.C.; Charleston, S.C.; Chicago (Midway Airport); Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; and Lafayette, La. Odyssey Aviation Bahamas was also a Million Air franchisee until early last year.

StandardAero’s Los Angeles engine shop has been serving the business aviation community for 62 years. It was started by Cliff Garrett in 1946 as AiResearch Aviation on what was then known as Mine Field, later to become Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The company built a solid reputation for maintenance, including retrofit programs for the Falcon 20, Hawker 125 series and 731 JetStar.

Dulles Jet Center, an Arcadia Aviation company, is providing aircraft maintenance services on Dulles International Airport (IAD). It also offers aircraft management and charter sales. The facility is an FAA Part 145 repair station.

West Star Aviation has taken over maintenance operations at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (ASE). The company has located two full-time maintenance technicians there, with Jim Benninger taking the position as Aspen airframe team leader. In addition, due to the close proximity to the company’s Grand Junction facility, it can staff the ASE operation as required to meet work demand.

Gulfstream Aerospace recently launched BudgetPlus, a parts subscription service that offers mid-cabin Gulfstream owners and operators a way to manage their annual maintenance costs. The launch formalizes a pilot program Gulfstream introduced in 2005.
