Gulfstream Aerospace appointed Larry Flynn senior vice president for marketing and sales. He will replace Raynor Reavis, who has announced his retirement. Flynn remains a v-p of Gulfstream parent General Dynamics. Mark Burns will take Flynn’s positions as president for Gulfstream product support and president of General Dynamics Aviation Services.

Cessna 208B Caravan, Alliance, Neb., Feb. 8, 2007–The Caravan pilot’s descent below minimum descent altitude on a nonprecision approach caused this crash, according to the NTSB. A contributing factor was a low ceiling (reported weather was 1.25 miles visibility and a 200-foot overcast in mist).
Bombardier Challenger 604, Teterboro, N.J., Oct. 31, 2006–The NTSB attributed this incident to the Bombardier Flexjet pilot’s excessive maneuver to avoid another airplane in response to a traffic collision alert on approach to Teterboro Airport.
Hawker Beechcraft King Air 200, Leonardtown, Md., Oct. 12, 2006–The NTSB said the King Air’s gear collapse on landing was caused by the airplane manufacturer’s inadequate landing-gear downlock plate maintenance orientation information, and the resulting disengagement of the main landing gear.
Bell 407, Morristown, Tenn., Nov. 9, 2007–The NTSB blamed the death of
Hawker Beechcraft King Air C90A, Emporia, Kan., Sept. 22, 2007–Following a severe high-frequency vibration in flight and an emergency landing, the King Air pilot found the right elevator trim tab push rod was broken. The NTSB blamed the incident on the improper installation of the trim tab attachment hardware by maintenance personnel, which resulted in excessive wear, fatigue and failure of the push-pull tube.
Embraer E170, Cleveland, Ohio, Feb.
MD 369D, Columbus, Mont., May 28, 2007– The commercial pilot and one crewmember were seriously injured and a second crew-member was killed when the Dylan Aviation MD 369 crashed during an attempted forced landing, after the helicopter had lost power.
Eurocopter EC 120B, Gulf of Mexico, Feb. 12, 2007–The commercial pilot and a passenger were killed when the ERA Helicopters EC 120 crashed into the Gulf on approach to an offshore oil platform. Reported weather was 10 miles visibility, and the wind was at 20 knots gusting to 25 knots.
Cessna Citation II, Milwaukee, June 4, 2007–Pilots of the Citation II that crashed into Lake Michigan struggled to keep control of the aircraft as soon as the Marlin Air Citation took off from General Mitchell International Airport.
