East Coast Jet Center in Stuart, Fla., was designated a distributor and service center for the Ae270, a turboprop single currently under development by Czech company Ibis Aerospace and scheduled to enter service in the first quarter of next year. The appointment of East Coast Jet Center included an order for an unspecified number of Ae270s, bringing the total number of firm orders to 76 and options for an additional six.

Pilatus Aircraft of Broomfield, Colo., has commissioned BMW DesignWorks USA of Southern California to develop nine identically priced interior designs for the $3.3 million (typically equipped) PC-12 turboprop single. Each design offers a combination of woods, fabrics, leather, carpeting and plating intended to reflect the “modern, progressive trends” of luxury automobile interiors.

The marketers of the emergency vision assurance system (EVAS) have received an STC for installation of the equipment in Boeing 737-300 cockpits, with the first units being delivered for the narrowbody twinjet to Magic Carpet Aviation in Orlando, Fla. EVAS, marketed by EVASWorldwide of Ramsey, N.J., is designed to provide pilots with an unobstructed view of vital instruments and controls in the event of continuous smoke in the cockpit.
