Atlantic Aviation donated hangar space at its John Wayne Airport FBO in Southern California for the Susan G. Komen Orange County affiliate's Pink Tie Ball. The event raised more than $400,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Business Aircraft Center at Danbury Airport in Connecticut is offering fuel-purchase incentives in the form of American Express gift cards. For purchases of 500 gallons or more, customers will earn one $50 gift card, and purchases of 250 to 499 gallons earn a $25 gift card. Business Aircraft Center recently remodeled its ­pilot lounge with new leather couches, free wireless Internet, HD television, flight-planning services and catering.

Biobor JF, the fuel biocide made by Hammonds Fuel Additives, has been reinstated as an approved biocide by the European Union until the end of this year. "The process to obtain recertification in the EU was cost prohibitive when Hammonds first researched the process," according to the company, but the EU approved Biobor's use for all aviation ­applications in late June. Phillips 66 fuel distributor The Hiller Group has signed two municipal airports as Phillips 66 fuel dealers, Alexander Field South Wood County Airport in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and the ­Higginsville Municipal Airport in Higginsville, Mo. Holman Aviation of Great Falls, Mont., also joined the Phillips 66 dealer network, served by fuel distributor CityServiceValcon.

Tac Air cut the ribbon on its new 12,000-sq-ft executive terminal and 45,000-sq-ft hangar at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Ky., on July 28. Tac Air had been operating at Blue Grass for 13 years. The new FBO project cost $11 million, according to Greg Arnold, president and CEO of Tac Air parent Truman Arnold Companies.

Reno-based FBO and charter operator Jet West took over the former Air Trails FBO at Salinas Municipal Airport in central California last year and remodeled the entire facility. Jet West Salinas held a grand opening on March 1. Salinas is a convenient alternate airport when the Monterey peninsula is fogged in, said Jet West general manager Ryan Gauger.

Online flight planning service Fltplan.com now offers interactive IFR en route and sectional charts. Users can print the charts and overlay various layers onto charts, such as weather radar, airspace and TFRs, state outlines, grid fixes, airports and victor and jet airways. The airways view also displays SID and Star symbols on the charts, but only those ­associated with the planned flight.
