Helicopter traffic around the Statfjord and Gullfaks offshore oil fields in Norway was seriously disturbed on December 11 by the incursion of the Russian carrier/cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov, along with two Udaloy-class cruisers. About 14 helicopters carrying oil workers had to scrub their flights because of Sukhoi Su-33 activity in the air. Sikorsky S-92 pilots with Norsk Helikopter and CHC could see the fighters operating below them.

Even with a dedicated hangar at its Little Rock, Ark. completions facility, French aircraft manufacturer Dassault is not meeting scheduled delivery dates of its new 5,950-nm Falcon 7X trijet. “The ramp-up has been a little slower than expected,” Dassault Falcon president John Rosanvallon told AIN, because of higher-than-planned cabin customization requests that have placed more demand for new parts and engineering design work.

A Bombardier Global 5000 landed short of a runway in the Caribbean islands on December 12 and sustained damage after hitting an airport perimeter fence. Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) flight ops inspector Paul Delisle told AIN that the accident occurred at Vance W. Armory Airport on the island of Nevis and said there were no injuries to crew or passengers.
