Jet Aviation has purchased charter company K Services and now for the first time is the holder of a U.S. Part 135 charter certificate. Before its acquisition in November 2008 by Gulfstream owner General Dynamics, then foreign-owned Jet Aviation had planned to develop its own charter company but halted that effort and entered into an agreement to broker charter flights to Priester Aviation.

The former Mac Dan Aviation FBO at Essex County Airport in Caldwell, N.J., which closed on September 30, has reopened under the new name Air Bound Aviation. Andy Ferguson, a long-time Essex County aircraft broker, hangar lessor and salesman for Pilatus PC-12 dealer Pro Star Aviation, took over the lease that used to be held by Mac Dan Aviation and reopened the FBO on December 1.
Despite plummeting new aircraft sales and continuing challenges paying some bills, Cirrus Aircraft should return to profitability next year, according to president and CEO Brent Wouters. The company remains committed to the Vision SF50 single-engine jet program, he affirmed, and 80 full-time personnel are working on the design while the search continues for the capital needed to complete the jet.
The European Commission has published a new provisional list of operators who are required to submit plans for monitoring, reporting and verifying carbon emissions under the European Union emissions trading scheme (EU-ETS). The list is intended to give operators extra time to prepare and file plans ahead of the planned publication of a full updated list in February.
While the setbacks suffered by the business aviation industry over the past year or so have been substantial, the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) expects them to be short-lived.
