Demand for private charter flights continued to dip at the end of January in line with seasonal expectations following the spike in bookings around the Christmas and New Year holidays. According to the latest forward-looking index from online charter portal Avinode, projected demand for the 30 days from January 31 stood at 84.03, which was less than half the level of 170.21 recorded a month earlier.

Eurocopter officially opened its new North Sea Service Centre today in Aberdeen, on the northeast coast of Scotland. The facility provides maintenance, repair and overhaul support for Eurocopter helicopters operating in the oil and gas fields of the North Sea. It also has a pilot training center, which features a full-flight simulator for the Eurocopter EC225.

Numbers released yesterday by corporate aviation information analyst JetNet suggest a stronger year ahead for new business jet sales. Pre-owned full-sale business jet transactions for 2010 were up by 16 percent, compared with 2009, and exceeded the 2008 transaction level by 4.8 percent.
