GE Passport turbofan

GE is here with three major programs at various stages of development. The Passport 20, for Bombardier’s Global 7000 and 8000 large-cabin business jets, has already passed some rig tests. The GE Honda HF120, for the HondaJet and the (currently suspended) Spectrum Freedom, is scheduled for certification in 2012. Meanwhile, the HF80 turboprop is due for certification later this year.

The toolkit is a new online resource that helps users calculate and explain the value of business aircraft in relation to a company’s business objectives.

VJS Lincoln announced the recent completion of a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility for Hawker Beechcraft at Indianapolis International Airport. The $14 million facility encompasses more than 75,000 sq ft of interior space, including a 40,000-sq-ft hangar.

Satcom Direct (Booth No. 3208) announced a new product and upgrades of existing ones at the NBAA show on Monday.

The company’s SD Flight Tracker is a Web-based service designed to deliver precise aircraft global positioning via Inmarsat, Iridium, VHF and broadband networks. It also provides real-time satellite system status and expands the capabilities of Satcom’s FlightDeck Freedom (FDF) service.

Pilatus Aircraft’s Pro Star Pilatus Center has contracted to sell the PC-12NG factory demonstrator on display here at the convention to Polymer Resources, Stamford, Conn. Polymer president Les Klein was on hand to accept the keys. . .Pratt & Whitney Canada has marked a major milestone delivering its 70,000th engine. The PT6A-60A turboprop is to be installed on a Hawker Beechcraft King Air 350. .

The National Aeronautics Association honored Hawker Beechcraft Corp. (HBC) here on Tuesday for two world speed records, accomplished on flights earlier this year in the company’s flagship Hawker 4000 and in a Beechcraft Premier IA. Both record flights took place in May en route to the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Geneva.

Blackhawk Modifications (Booth No. 2935) has received supplemental type certificate (STC) approval of its XP28 upgrade for the Piper Cheyenne I with Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-28 engines in place of the original PT6A-11s. The new engines will allow power to be carried to a much higher altitude and increase speed to 250 ktas.
