Desperately keen to present a positive image here at Le Bourget following the past two years’ industrial troubles, Airbus is working to ensure the support of production-line workers for its proposals to rationalize the business. Airbus plans to improve earnings before interest and tax by a cumulative $6.6 billion during by 2010 and to generate an additional $2.8 billion annual revenue from 2010.
GE Aviation’s Systems division expects to complete testing the interface units for the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey some time in the next few weeks, after which the units will be flight tested on the vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft.
Hawker Beechcraft has signed a multi-year contract with Satyam Computer Services, India’s fourth-largest software exporter, to provide design and other services.

Bombardier Aerospace is showing its CRJ900 NextGen regional-jet here in 76-seat guise and the uniform of Northwest Airlines subsidiary Mesaba Airlines less than two weeks after a sister machine was unveiled in Washington, D.C. For regionals like Mesaba, the NextGen CRJ “will have substantially lower seat-mile costs than [competing] Embraer regional jets,” according to commercial-operations vice president Rod Williams.
