An alliance between Jeppesen  and CMC electronics will integrate Jepp’s software, data and applications into CMC’s second-generation PilotView class 2 electronic flight bag (EFB).

Meanwhile, a separate satellite communications antenna deal with Japan Airlines highlights the Canadian company’s continuing advances in the field of air transport avionics.

Jeppesen’s contribution to the EFB alliance includes its award-winning airport moving map plus the en-route moving map that the Boeing subsidiary plans to release soon. CMC will add its EFB hardware and software expertise, installation-related supplemental type certificates and after-sales support.

Separately, Japan Airlines, has picked CMC’s SatLite high-gain satcom antenna for the Boeing 737-800s that form part of a 30-aircraft 737 NG order announced last February. CMC’s satcom antennas are used in more than 75 percent of all Aero H/H+ airline installations, and the vendor has delivered around 2,000 Inmarsat satcom antennas to approximately 100 customers.
