At Sun ’n Fun 2013 Continental Motors (Booth D-097) announced that it has increased TBO up to 400 hours on its Gold Standard factory-produced engines, which it introduced in 2012. The increased TBO is for nearly all Continental Motors factory-produced engines as designated by Serial Number 1006000 and higher. These engines were produced in February 2012 and beyond. Aircraft owners who operate their engines more than 40 hours per month stand to benefit the most from the TBO extension, allowing them to postpone their TBO time by up to 400 hours.

When asked how the company can extend the TBO on these engines Rhett Ross, president, Continental Motors, explained that the Gold Standard factory new and remanufactured engines have improvements in technology and manufacturing processes that increase their operating life. “We are pleased to offer increased TBOs at no increase in price as we continue our commitment to enhancing the Gold Standard ownership experience,” said Ross.

Complete details on the new extended TBO are included in Service Information Letter (SIL) 98-9B. Additional information is available at www.ContinentalMotors.aero/TBOExtension or by calling Customer Service at (800)326-0089 or (251) 436-8292.
