Piaggio Aero Industries delivered the 100th Avanti in the U.S., the manufacturer announced on Tuesday. HyperMach Aerospace’s planned 20-seat supersonic business jet (SSBJ), dubbed the SonicStar, will be able to fly at Mach 4.0, the company said Friday in Dubai. This is faster than the Mach 3.6 top speed announced when the proposed V-tailed aircraft was first revealed in June at the Paris Air Show. At Mach 4, the SonicStar would be able to fly from New York to Dubai in just 2 hours 20 minutes.
The Obama Administration has notified NBAA that it will continue to have a seat on the Transportation Security Administration’s Aviation Security Advisory Committee (Asac), along with 24 other industry stakeholder groups.
