In response to an RFP issued last year, the city council of Livermore, Calif., has signed an agreement with Hayward, Calif.-based Five Rivers Aviation to establish a new FBO at the San Francisco airport and take over fueling operations from the municipality. The proposed plan calls initially for a 25,000-sq-ft facility that would include the terminal and hangar space for transient aircraft, as well as for tenant businesses such as aircraft maintenance (which is not currently available). Two subsequent construction phases would each add another 25,000 sq ft of hangar space.

More than two years after Tac Air filed a Part 16 complaint with the FAA over the operation of an FBO built and owned by the airport operator at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport/Lovell Field, the agency has finally issued its ruling, finding the airport authority did not violate its federal grant obligations. Fuel management software provider FuelerLinx is here at the NBAA show to announce the debut of sister company FBOlinx, which now allows FBOs to broadcast their fuel prices to their flight department customer base. As opposed to posting a uniform price online and waiting for customers to contact them, using the new system, FBOs can send confidential quotes directly to their customers. Prices can be exclusively tailored to meet a flight department’s fuel-use profile for a more streamlined and personalized process.
A new player in the FBO arena has made its debut here at NBAA 2013. Earlier this month, Quintessentially Aviation (QA) Handling announced it began ground-handling operations at Ireland’s Shannon Airport.
