Hawker Beechcraft Hawker 800XP, Smith, Nev., Aug. 28, 2006–No one was seriously injured when the NetJets Hawker and a Schleicher ASW27-18 glider collided in flight. The Hawker was on an IFR flight plan; the glider had not filed a flight plan. As the Hawker was being handed over to Reno Approach, the captain saw the glider and maneuvered to avoid the collision.

Last month, Associated Air Center in Dallas delivered the second of three Airbus Corporate Jetliners purchased by the same customer. The interior amenities include a karaoke machine, an executive stateroom with lavatory and shower, and a cabin management system from Honeywell that features the Airshow moving map display. In December the independent completion and refurbishment center delivered its 10th ACJ.

Cessna unveiled a mockup of a large-cabin intercontinental jet at the 2006 NBAA Convention, and based on strong market acceptance announced on January 24 the formal launch of the biggest Citation yet. Yesterday, Cessna revealed many more details about the newly named Citation Columbus, and AIN asked Cessna chairman, president and CEO Jack Pelton for his insights on the new jet.
