Nextant Aerospace has tapped Jet Aviation Geneva as an authorized service center in Europe for the company’s 400XTi, which is a remanufactured Beechjet 400A. Under the new agreement, Jet Aviation Geneva will provide maintenance services for Nextant’s aircraft across the continent. The companies also recently signed a similar agreement adding Jet Aviation Singapore to Nextant’s network of authorized service centers. The 400XTi received EASA certification last month.
Embraer named Jet Aviation Basel an authorized service center for the Embraer Legacy 600 and 650. In this capacity Jet Aviation can provide line and base maintenance for the Embraer Legacy 600 and 650. “We can now provide any kind of maintenance, exterior painting and IFE upgrades, as well as warranty and AOG support to the growing Embraer customer base in Europe, the Middle East and Asia,” said Johannes Turzer, vice president and general manager of the maintenance center at Jet Aviation Basel.
Landmark Aviation has made several additions to its executive staff. Ben Murray, former president of XOJet, has joined the company as president of its aircraft management and charter division. The service provider also named Skip Madsen, previously Jet Aviation’s v-p for MRO operations, to its newly created v-p of MRO. Tyson Goetz was selected as company v-p. Most recently he was a senior regional manager for Atlantic Aviation.
Jet Aviation Basel signed an agreement at EBACE with Custom Control Concepts (Booth 385) of Kent, Washington, to become the company’s exclusive authorized service center in Europe. Custom Control Concepts provides custom inflight entertainment equipment, lighting and cabin management systems to high-end jets and heads-of-state aircraft.
This week China’s Metrojet , a leading operator and maintenance provider in Asia, has announcedhas signed a partnership agreement with The Leather Institute of Red Bank, New Jersey. Under the agreement The Leather Institute will provide its aircraft interior care and leather component refinishing services at Metrojet’s facilities.
With more than 180 Gulfstream operators, Europe is a major region for the Gulfstream Aerospace, and the company has recently expanded its support infrastructure in the continent. At Luton Airport, the company’s support center has added more employees, while the mobile repair team unit, part of the field and airborne support team (Fast) network has also grown in size. Fast engineers are based in Athens, Paris and Switzerland, and one more is to begin operations from Kiev.
VIP cabin equipment supplier Custom Control Concepts (CCC, Booth 385) announced that it has appointed Jet Aviation Basel as its exclusive authorized service center for Europe. Under the terms of the agreement, Jet Aviation will perform component-level repairs on CCC equipment and provide necessary return-to-service approvals. CCC has agreed to provide training, equipment and parts.
European business aviation flight activity may still be down, but overall prospects for one of the industry’s largest service groups are on the rise, according to Jet Aviation president Dan Clare. In an interview ahead of this week’s EBACE show Clare said the Switzerland-based company’s management and charter business is picking up well, with balanced growth between the markets in the U.S. and across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. At the same time, he hailed a recovery in Jet Aviation’s aircraft completions business.
Gulfstream Aerospace announced yesterday at EBACE that it is bolstering its sales, marketing and aircraft support presence in Europe as the Gulfstream fleet continues to expand, apparently unabated by any lingering economic uncertainty. In fact, there are now 246 Gulfstreams based in Europe–182 in Western Europe and 64 in Eastern Europe–more than double the number as recently as 2006, the U.S. aircraft manufacturer said.
The newly refurbished Jet Aviation FBO in Geneva now encompasses 660 sq m (7,100 sq ft) and features three new lounges, giving crewmembers and passengers nearly twice the room to relax or do business.
