Zurich-based ExecuJet Aviation Group is extending its partnership with Bilen Air Service to include aircraft handling at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokchen Airport, thus providing 24/7 general aviation flight support capability to the city, which serves as a link between Europe and the Middle East, following the recent introduction of flight restrictions at Istanbul Atatürk Airport.

Kurt Edwards, formerly the FAA senior advisor for policy, international aviation, and environment, was named director general of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC). He replaces Donald Spruston, who is retiring.

Signature Flight Support has appointed Sami Teittinen as CFO. Before this appointment he held the same position for sister company ASIG.

Mike Flint, previously v-p and sales director for corporate aircraft finance with GE Capital, has joined CIT Business Aircraft as v-p of U.S. sales.

Its maintenance facility at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport is approaching its fifth anniversary and now is preparing to add a fifth business jet family to its portfolio.

Five years after its founding by former Jet Aviation chief Heinz Koehli, Amac Aerospace has significantly strengthened its credentials as a business aviation services group with the opening of its third hangar in Basel, Switzerland, last week. This also comes on the heels of the company’s setting up a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Istanbul, Turkey.

Jet Aviation St. Louis is offering free calibration of hand tools, such as torque wrenches and micrometers, for clients who bring their aircraft in for maintenance before December 31. The MRO has provided calibration as a stand-alone service for many years. “The total savings depend on the number and variety of tools that the customer brings us, but it can be a significant value and convenience for them,” Chuck Krugh, senior vice president and general manager, told AIN.

Western Jet Aviation, a heavy-maintenance facility based at Van Nuys Airport in Southern California, has opened a satellite maintenance base at Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Reno, Nev. Located in the former Jet West FBO facility, the Western Jet satellite is equipped for light through heavy maintenance and staffed by two mechanics. Western Jet founder and general manager Jim Hansen said he plans to employ five to 10 mechanics at the Reno facility. “The airport is committed to grow,” he said.

Jet Aviation announced today that it has restructured its EMEA & Asia organization by forming two separate regional divisions–one for Asia and one for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The company appointed Kim Chan as vice president and head of Jet Aviation Asia and Stefan Benz as vice president MRO and FBO services of its EMEA operations. To align regional operations, Jet Aviation created a separate division for its EMEA regional operations and established a new regional division in the growing Asian market, consisting of Hong Kong, Singapore and Beijing.

Aviation Consultancy & Engineering Services (ACE Services) has added a new aircraft maintenance management (AMM) department and obtained UK CAA continuing airworthiness management (Camo), airworthiness review certificate and permit to fly approvals. ACE Services provides project, engineering, maintenance, continuing airworthiness and technical records; quality assurance and control; aircraft maintenance planning and forecasting; and audit safety systems.
