Russian Helicopters delivered a second Mi-171 to Indonesia’s Airfast in November.

Russian Helicopters is here at the Singapore Airshow (Stand U87) exhibiting three models: the Ka-32A11BC medium twin in rescue and firefighting configuration; the Ka-226T light twin with a medical module; and the Mi-38 heavy twin, which is primarily designed for passenger and cargo transportation.

 Kamov Ka-52

Turning heads at Le Bourget whenever it takes to the skies is Kamov’s Ka-52 helicopter. Its co-axial rotor blades and comprehensive weapons suite mark it out from the herd and, amazingly for a helicopter, it even has ejection seats. With the Ka-52 now in Russian army service and being touted for export, the design bureau is busy working on a maritime version for the Russian navy.

EASA certified the Turbomeca Arrius 2G1 turboshaft that powers the Kamov Ka-226T light twin, Kamov parent company Russian Helicopters announced this week. The Ka-226T is a coaxial-rotor helicopter that features a service ceiling of 24,000 feet, according to the manufacturer. It seats eight, including the pilot, and has an mtow of 7,900 pounds.
