Pratt & Whitney Canada’s FAST (Flight Data Acquisition Storage and Transmission System) engine diagnostic, prognostic and health-management (DPHM) system recently received a Transport Canada Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for use on Bombardier Dash 8 Series 200 and 300 turboprops, P&WC announced Wednesday on the occasion of the annual Regional Airline Association Convention in St. Louis. Transport Canada STC No. SA12-70 now includes Bombardier Models Q200, Q300 and Q400.
Pratt & Whitney Canada started running a full PW800 engine demonstrator late last year, company vice president of business aviation and military programs Michael Perodeau told AIN yesterday. He confirmed that the demonstration effort has progressed according to plan but gave little detail.
Vector Aerospace Engine Services Atlantic named Malcolm Venturi as regional sales and service manager for southern and western Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. According to the company, Venturi has more than 22 years of technical and hands-on aviation experience coupled with a “deep knowledge of the Australian and Asia –Pacific aviation markets.” Venturi will provide support for fixed-wing operators flying with Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A, JT15D, PW100 and PW150A engines.
Pratt & Whitney Canada (Booth No. 3718) announced that the time between overhaul (TBO) for PW206 and PW207 engines has been extended to 4,000 hours, from the original 3,500 hours. The TBO extension is applicable to engines incorporating certain service bulletins and to all new PW206 and PW207 engines. Alternatively, an engine upgrade is available to operators wanting to take advantage of the increased TBO interval. “This TBO extension will help operators derive more value from their engines,” said vice president of customer service Raffaele Virgili.
