Emteq has been awarded a contract to provide its Quasar full mood lighting system for a Boeing 787 VIP completion that is scheduled to be delivered next year. Included in the contract are a Quasar ceiling dome light and Quasar II wash lighting. The 115-VAC system uses self-regulating power consumption and, as such, dispenses with a transformer rectifier unit, with an attendant weight saving. The lighting system interfaces directly with the cabin management system, requiring no additional controllers.
Of all the new products it is has on display at EBACE this year, New Berlin, Wisconsin-based Emteq (Booth 1557) expects the most buzz to be around its eConnect advancements. Since eConnect was introduced in the fourth quarter of 2011, Emteq has continued to update the cabin electronics control system, ensuring it not only will serve as a current top-line CMS/IFE system but can also adapt to future needs.
Emteq, which introduced its LED mood lighting in 2006, has sold more than 2,600 feet of its original Quasar full-spectrum variant and is now introducing Quasar II at Booth No. 3793.
Thanks to constantly improving technology, Quasar II lighting is smaller and lighter in weight, while at the same time offering greater light intensity. Quasar II also offers the advantage of operating on both 28 volts DC or 115 volts AC, and it provides two-inch node resolution with clearer and smoother lighting control.
