The large return duct of the heritage wind tunnel at the former Royal Aircraft Establishment site at TAG Farnborough Airport is being used for evening events.

You may not think art and aviation mix–but think again! Artist Tatiana Ojjeh has, with the support of various sponsors including Farnborough Airport owner TAG Aviation, brought a creative experience to the show in one of the old, vast wind tunnels–situated in the old Royal Aircraft Establishment buildings on the opposite side of the airfield from the Farnborough Airshow site.

Trying to get business aviation to take root in China is no easy task, but many Chinese delegations have made their way in recent years to see TAG Farnborough Airport, according to CEO Brandon O’Reilly. The airport is unique in the UK in being dedicated to business aviation and focusing on quality, to the extent it sticks to one FBO, also run by TAG Aviation. It also has a distinctive, futuristic look with its wave hangars and matching, futuristic-looking control tower.

The Black Sheds, the row of elderly aircraft hangars situated at the eastern edge of the Farnborough airfield, close to the runway’s final approach, have been an iconic feature at every airshow held at this historic Hampshire location. But the protected Listed Grade 2 structures have been standing there for a lot longer. In fact, they originally housed some of the earliest British military aircraft as squadrons were formed during the years that led up to World War I.
