Ferentino, Italy-based Iacobucci HF is displaying its cabin interior components here this week. The company (Booth No. N4916) has brought its line of customizable cabin seats, including its newest entrée: the VIP Jet Series Double Seat, which is expected to receive EASA and FAA certification by the end of the month.
Expliseat (Hall 4 Stand F146), a Paris-based start-up company, is here (in the French SME pavilion) with a new economy-class seat designed to drastically cut weight and complexity. Dubbed Titanium, it weighs 8.8 pounds per passenger–a 50-percent saving, Expliseat claims. This may translate into an estimated 3- to 5-percent fuel saving, or $300,000 to $500,000, per aircraft per year.
EADS Sogerma (Booth No. 5431) is exhibiting at the NBAA convention for the first time and is showcasing a full-size mockup of a cockpit seat that could fit into a super-midsize to large-cabin business jet.
