Two years after selling a majority stake to investment firm Graycliff Partners of New York City, Skandia, which provides seating materials, flammability testing and other interiors products and services to the business aviation industry, is in expansion mode. “We’re looking to grow,” said Jarod Triplett, v-p of the Dawson Junction, Ill.-based company. “I can see us doubling in size over the next five years, with some targeted market recovery as well as the [addition] of some new product lines and services to our portfolio.”
Skandia is completing its repertoire of flammability tests with the addition of heat-release and smoke-density equipment for heat, smoke and toxicity testing capabilities.
“Adding these new tests is the direct response to requests by our global customers,” said Jarod Triplett, v-p of the Davis Junction, Ill. company. “This now makes Skandia one of the few single-source testing facilities that can offer the full complement of services.” The services offered include tests required for any commercial or regional aircraft certified to carry 20 or more passengers.
Skandia introduced an all-inclusive service that provides business aircraft MROs and regional jet operators a more efficient method to meet the requirements of 16g replacement dress cover certification with regards to the modification of a TSO’d aircraft cabin seat under the guidelines of FAA AC 21-25A.
