The new Jetex FBO at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines, is now fully operational, according to the international trip support provider. The luxury facility, open 24 hours a day, has on-site customs, immigration and quarantine service and can obtain traffic slots and overflight permits on short notice. The location can also arrange VIP handling at other major airports throughout the Philippines.

Raisbeck Engineering received FAA STC approval on Friday for its Learjet 60 aft fuselage locker. It will now be available for purchase and installation at all Raisbeck-authorized dealer locations. Final certification flights were completed in March. Development of the aft fuselage locker–which weighs 276 pounds and adds 28 cu ft of storage space–began in June 2008, with the confirmation of technical cooperation between Raisbeck and Bombardier Learjet. The program involved the addition of a fire-proof shell and a fire-detection system.

FBO chain Avflight opened its new facility this week at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Mich., a year-round tourism destination. Operating out of the airport’s general aviation terminal, the Avfuel-branded facility offers a range of fueling products and services. In addition to fuel and Avfuel programs, Avflight Traverse City features concierge services, a pilot lounge area, flight-planning facilities, courtesy vehicles, de/anti-icing services, cargo loading/unloading, charter handling and on-site rental cars.

Bristow Group obtained UK Civil Aviation Authority approval late last week to place the first two AgustaWestland AW189 medium twins into service. The AW189 launch customer and OGP operator is expected to begin operations shortly with the pair from its base in Norwich to platforms in the Southern North Sea. Bristow has four more AW189s on order.
