Dole Food and its affiliate Castle & Cook have purchased three Eclipse 500 very light jets (VLJs) that will join a current corporate aircraft fleet. Dole’s flight department is based in Van Nuys, Calif., and includes a Global Express.
Airbus A318s powered by CFM International engines were approved by the EASA for 180-minute extended-range twin-engine operations (ETOPS). FAA validation of 180-minute ETOPS is targeted for the first half of next year.
The FAA is proposing to amend the digital flight data recorder (DFDR) regulations of Parts 121 and 135 to prohibit filtering of original parameter sensor signals. During several accident investigations, the NTSB found that some DFDRs were filtering signals before they were recorded.
Associated Air Center, a Landmark Aviation company based at Dallas Love Field, signed a contract for its 12th Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) interior. The aircraft is scheduled to arrive at Love Field in March.
