Alpha Flying, Atlas Aircraft Move into New Digs

Alpha Flying and sister company Atlas Aircraft Center are holding a grand opening celebration this afternoon for their new aviation complex at Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, N.H. Due to space constraints, Alpha Flying moved in 2000 from Nashua (N.H.) Airport to Manchester (N.H.) Airport, taking with it the PlaneSense fractional aircraft program under its management. Those same constraints were responsible for the move to Portsmouth.

The new, purpose-built facility, which includes a 40,000-sq-ft hangar and 44,000 sq ft of offices, now houses the main offices and maintenance facilities of Alpha Flying and PC-12 Northeast service center Atlas Aircraft. According to CEO George Antoniadis, the companies have already outgrown the new buildings and Phase 2 expansion plans are now being drawn to build on an adjacent 20-acre parcel.

Meanwhile, Alpha Flying’s PlaneSense fractional fleet stands at 34 PC-12s, with 19 more expected to join the fleet by 2010. Additionally, the company will start taking delivery of the first of 25 Grob SPn light jets in the second quarter of next year.
