Avionics News Update: FDS secures cabin monitor PMAs

Flight Display Systems in Alpharetta, Ga., last month said the FAA has granted it parts manufacturing approval for three new cabin LCD monitors, an endorsement that will make it easier for some dealers to install the equipment. The newly introduced monitors include a 10.4-inch LCD that sells for a list price of $2,989, a 17.1-inch widescreen LCD that lists for $6,094 and a 26-inch widescreen that costs $10,940.

FDS offers nine PMA’d cabin monitors in all, ranging in size from seven to 42 inches diagonal. All feature triple video inputs allowing passenger to select among moving map display, DVD movies or external camera views.
