Business As Usual As Twin Commander Moves

Twin Commander Aircraft is making progress on its move from Arlington, Wash., to North Carolina. The company is coordinating the move with the FAA’s Seattle and Atlanta offices to establish its production certificate in North Carolina and is projecting completion in the fourth quarter.

According to Twin Commander president Matt Isley, the parts inventory will be relocated to the new facility when the change of certificate is accomplished. The company has already implemented a new enterprise resource planning system, hired and trained new employees and made improvements to the existing quality management system.

“In preparation for the move we have worked alongside our valuable vendor base to manage our tooling in a way that will minimize freight costs while allowing us to provide the quick turnaround times that Commander owners and operators have come to expect,” Isley said. “Some of our staff have relocated to North Carolina and are adjusting to the new setting.

We have already relocated our complement of nearly 58,000 pieces of manufacturing tooling into our Creedmoor warehouse and carefully arranged hundreds of thousands of engineering drawings into our newly constructed fireproof document vault.”
