Companies Offer Employee Help Using JSfirm Job Site

JSfirm announced Monday at Heli-Expo in Anaheim, Calif., that companies using their Web sites to advertise job openings can take advantage of JSfirm’s “E” program. According to cofounder and managing partner Sam Scanlon, “This is not an outplacement program [but] a less expensive and more effective way for aviation companies to help employees who are laid off as a result of downsizing to find work.

The E program is already included in company membership fees. Through it, JSfirm provides career counseling, résumé building assistance, Web site instruction and a list of hiring companies.

It will also allow members to download material to hand out to employees who have been affected by the current economic crisis. Scanlon describes it as “a touch of class for companies to provide their employees this service.

JSfirm currently has 4,000 company members and 63,000-plus individual résumé members, and the company numbers have not dropped as the recession has grown.
