Completion and Refurbishment: Executive Version of Grob’s Utility Jet

Design of the full-size executive cabin mockup of the Grob SPn midsize “utility jet” shown in September at the NBAA Convention reflected lukewarm response to the Swiss manufacturer’s airplane in its cargo configuration. The six-passenger version is distinctively upscale, with 18-inch-wide seats from Italy’s Geven, an enclosed aft lavatory, a substantial wardrobe at the entrance and a forward galley.

Grob has selected the Honeywell Ovation C Series cabin entertainment system, which provides passengers with controls for all cabin functions. Options will include DVD/CD players, XM satellite radio, MP3 connections and high-resolution monitors.

A high-density, eight-seat configuration comes without the wider seats and forward galley. Nevertheless, the option remains to quickly remove cabin seating to make way for light cargo.

With this “utility” aspect in mind, the floor is reinforced to support standard freight pallets.
