Elliott Aviation is showing a Hawker Beechcraft King Air B200 at the Orlando Executive Airport static display that sports a new Garmin G1000 integrated avionics glass cockpit. The aircraft arrived at NBAA from Illinois with a Collins Pro Line 4 panel.
While parked on the ramp at Showalter Flying Service, that panel was replaced with the G1000 so that the unit could be powered up for attendees to sample what the avionics can do. But the G1000 will be removed immediately after the show and before the aircraft departs back to Elliott Aviation headquarters in Moline because the STC for the installation will not be issued until after the New Year.
Elliott already has the STC to put the G1000 in King Air 90s. The company has completed two STCs and is working on a third. Meanwhile, Garmin has authorized Elliott to offer installation of its King Air Platinum Package at a greatly discounted price for C90, 200 and B200 owners who place an order to retrofit the G1000 by November 30.
The cost of the Platinum Package–which includes synthetic-vision technology, Garmin Chartview that displays Jeppesen charts and XM radio remote control will be $9,995.
