Embraer on Tuesday announced that it delivered 56 aircraft during the second quarter, including 35 regional airliners and 21 executive jets. Broken down by model, the executive jet side delivered 15 Phenom 100s (including two to an unidentified defense customer, presumably for VIP transport), five Legacy 600s and one Lineage 1000.
The company’s firm order backlog stands at $19.8 billion, which includes orders for more than 800 Phenom 100s and 300s. Meanwhile, at the end of last month Embraer started to deliver Phenom 100s to Brazilian customers.
The first Brazilian customers to receive the entry-level jets were Algar Aviation of Uberlândia, for its charter operations; Wellborn Participações of Londrina; and Locar Guindastes e Transportes Intermodais of São Paulo. The latter two will be using their aircraft for corporate transport, Embraer said.
“It is gratifying for Embraer to see the Phenom 100 flying with Brazilian customers so quickly, since worldwide deliveries began just seven months ago,” said Breno Corrêa, Embraer Executive Jets vice president of marketing and sales for Latin America. More than 100 of the aforementioned Phenoms are destined for Latin America, of which 70 percent are for Brazilian customers.
