Emivest Aerospace, formerly Sino Swearingen Aircraft, yesterday delivered its first SJ30 light jet and continues to ramp up production at its San Antonio plant. The twinjet, S/N 008, was handed over to owner Harry Mohney of Déjà Vu Consulting of Lansing, Mich.
Configured for five passengers, it is equipped with SelCal HF radio, dual mode-S (with enhanced surveillance) transponders, Honeywell Primus Epic glass cockpit, the RosenView VX moving map package, CD/DVD player with two seven-inch monitors, Alto Aviation speakers, wireless controls and five wireless headsets. Mohney said he will be using the aircraft in support of his entertainment business in the U.S. and abroad.
Emivest (Emirates Investment and Development Company) of Dubai became a majority holder of former Sino Swearingen in June last year when it agreed to pump a minimum of $150 million into the manufacturing center to restart production of the $7.25 million business jet. S/N 008 received its FAA airworthiness certificate on September 3, and Emivest said five more SJ30s are currently on the production line.
The company expects to deliver its second SJ30, to actor Morgan Freeman, by early November, as well as another three airplanes next year.
