Accusing the Flight Options management team of being “out of touch with its pilots’ legitimate career aspirations,” the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 1108, which represents the pilots at the fractional, last month filed for mediation with the National Mediation Board. Local 1108 president Greg Rountree said contract negotiations between the 575 Flight Options pilots and the fractional provider have “broken down” since April and have failed to produce a single agreement.
Negotiations began in June 2006, not long after the Flight Options pilots voted for union representation under IBT 1108. A Flight Options spokeswoman said the company won’t comment on pilot contract negotiations.
