Gulfstream celebrates Luton center anniversary

In the five years since Gulfstream established its maintenance center at London Luton, the facility has grown from 28,000 to 56,000 sq ft. It is the only Gulfstream-owned service center to be operated outside the U.S. The MRO became the first FAA-certified aircraft maintenance center outside the U.S. to be awarded the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician Diamond Certificate of Excellence.

The London Luton service center is one of six that Gulfstream owns. It provides maintenance for the Gulfstream G550/500/450/400/300/350/200 as well
as the GV/IV-SP/IV/III/II. The facility has received approval to work on a variety of Gulfstream aircraft from the FAA, the European Aviation Safety Agency, the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, the United Arab Emirates’ General Civil Aviation Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bahrain and the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority.

Gulfstream has significantly bolstered the facility’s parts holdings, and the stockpile is now worth $25 million, up from some $4 million-worth a year ago.
